Hi Guys,Have a long stop over between at LAX (Bris-London/9 hour stop over) next month and was looking into catching the Ocean Express Trolley. I've read a lot of reviews saying your able to buy tickets for it from Hotel Concierge even if you aren't a patron. My question is.

How do I get to said hotels to purchase a ticket? Can anyone recommend transport to one of these hotels? And a suggestion on a hotel that's close to one of the Ocean Express Trolley bus stops? I understand there's free hotel buses, but are they for people who aren't guests? Any advice would be great. An travelling solo for the first time and trying to be mega organised. Thanks! Sorry, it says right on the Ocean Express website in bold ink that 'Ocean Express is a private shuttle service for hotel guests in the Gateway to LA.

It is not public transportation.' It is Not a trolley but a red bus. The shuttles have been running full, as I see it multiple times a day. I don't know where you read recent reviews that say anyone can buy a ticket. That's why the driver doesn't sell tickets to people who show up at the stops. The hotel sells them to their guests.

The 15 hotels got together to pay for the maintenance and upkeep of the shuttle and the bus drivers salary, so guests in the dull LAX area can take it to shopping and meals during their hotel stay. They deserve to have a seat available to them. It's not good advice to tell people how to beat the system. Take a $12 Uber to. A cab is the fastest way to MB Beach, but there is a city bus that travels down Sepulveda Blvd. Or take the bus there and a Taxi back to LAX in 15 min. It's only 3 miles. There is a dedicated cab stand near the base of the pier, at the Shellback Tavern.

Always a few cabs waiting.Instead of being dropped off down at the pier, you might tell the cab driver (If you go both ways) to drop you off at the a few blocks up the street on MB Blvd. The fare will be a little less and you will enjoy walking past all the shops and eateries on the way down to the ocean. I've seen people this summer roll their carry-on size suitcases down the sidewalks, on the pier, and even inside Restaurant. If you sit at the lunch counter or table they don't mind your suitcase. Open 24/7 you can get lite fare if you want to sit for awhile.Too many travelers have time to kill while waiting for overseas.

Some can't check in luggage as soon as they like. You are not the only one with the problem.

I think the cab is around $19 and we give $25 so we don't have to count out a tip, we just want to get inside our house after a vacation. We now take Uber usually if we don't have a friend or relative drive us. I understand not having internet. There is also a Starbucks across from the Kettle and they have free Internet. Lots of people hanging around there too.

You will walk by on your way down the street from. Take a look at the menu on line and check out their patio.

They also own on the other side of Starbuck's, which is famous for their burgers and beer. Down at the pier, next to Shellback Tavern, is Rock N'Fish. They also have a covered patio and good food, with a partial ocean view. There is the new MB Library on Highland Ave to the north of Kettle.

If you need to rest or kill time you could spend time there on a comfy sofa. Most shops don't open before 9-10 am. If you are in town on a Tuesday, our Farmers Market is between the library and Shade Hotel on a blocked off street, 11am-4PM. How do I post a question on the Forum?
